Mackintosh's entry (submitted under the pseudonym Der Vögel (`The bird`) was disqualified due to being incomplete on the deadline. On resubmission Rennie Mackintosh received an honorary award due to his house's originality.
The Art Nouveau house designs were published in 1902 and exhibited at the International Exposition in Turin.
Two maquettes constructed.
Version 1.0
scale 2inchs by 2inchs.
palsa wood red paint.
simple structure showing traditional bird house.
Version 1.1
4inch by 4 inch
Simple yet again using derelict wood sourced
locally, box construction with peg, This is varnished and
would the wood would in theory last over four years.
I prefer the wood grain showing to the more picturesq
earlier version.
In follow version invert scale, overly large bird house. Akin to earlier idea create 'big bird house'

Shows rough plan and dimensions of todays work, After lecture built this bird house unfortunatly lack of camera and rather a lot of varnish prohibited taking photos or moving to location where I could photograph finished work.
Image to side shows example of one of the other forms of bird house I could play with. using images children draw or my own as formalised 3dimensional structures.
big birds house
This version rather than various other market designs I have explored offers ample space for local children to personalise, while the rather small opening ensures non aggressive species usage, hindering squirrel and bird on bird ethnic cleansing. An attempt to display finalised working model from various angles, In this version I added a hinged door though if i were to continue with this project I would use sliding panel to minimise cost and use suitable material.
Depicts actualised position viewer would see bird house from
Display of door open, this depending on the intelligence of the creature could be used by some smarter than average squirrel.

use sound of rare bird type, various. attracted the twitchers, use twitter to catch me a twitcher.
As
I have yet to have formalised agreement on placement this mock is
tenuously tethered to the tree in non permanent fashion, The element
from local community members/children has yet to be implemented. This is
merely a testing of construction.
While
I am rather pleased with outcome I feel if I wanted to continue for
practicality a great many more and smaller scale would be more
appropriate, perhaps using children's drawing to create three
dimensional objects nestings.
Bat and bird nesting.
From interest in fer-bushing the park with greater number of wild life ( see land management plan 2011-2016.
An aim of enrichment of wild life and addressing desire of the public for bird bat housing, for this project I would intend to create bird houses myself
basic form of birds house, possible use recycled locally sourced material.
"2.8.4 Where there are insufficient natural holes for nesting bird species, bird boxes
could provide nest sites for these species. Similarly the provision of bat boxes
could also encourage roosting bats where there are insufficient natural sites.
This is in line with Glasgow’s Local Biodiversity Action Plan and also the
Nature Conservation Scotland Act 2004 which places a duty on Local
Authorities to enhance biodiversity."

Basic drawing by a child, contact local school, send template allow children to draw birds, select few.
run as competition, select FIVE, use as template for bird houses, Offer class bird house of there own for taking part.
above bird house mock up without drawing implemented.
This utilises local community members in an attempt to spark interest in park its self, addresses a desire as stated by community members and persons who use park IF I contacted 'multi sensory impaired school' it would offer a sensory experience ' bird calls' or simple pleasure of sight etc depending on impairment, the locality and function within the park its self would offer and aid in contemplation and relaxtion, enrichment of wild life and conservation of said wildlife, this would address concern of bat and bird population.
Also references own first experience of the park, but I am not within my art. ( link and explain)
